Founder of ABLE Academy and Applied Behavioral Learning Enterprises, lives every day by her personal mantra, “Pursue Passion, Inspire Through Action.” She is a Nationally Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been practicing ABA since 1996. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances and Communication, a Master of Science in Varying Exceptionalities Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and a Doctorate of Education in Special Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Design. As a classroom teacher, Colleen worked with students with disabilities varying from severe emotional disorders to mental handicaps. Colleen also served as the Lead Behavior Analyst for Collier County Public Schools. In this role, Colleen developed behavioral interventions for children served in all exceptional student education programs ranging from Pre-K Developmental Disabilities to Learning Disabled to Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, providing hands-on training to educators and parents and individualized behavior therapy to students. As a national consultant, Colleen has assisted school districts, private schools and training facilities in developing group and individual behavior change programs and early intervention programs, providing assessment, program development and regularly scheduled consultations. With a particular interest in children and adults with limited verbal repertoires, Colleen has also been instrumental in assessing and developing individualized Verbal Behavior programs for children and adults including assessment program development and regularly scheduled consultations. In 2013, Colleen co-authored an assessment and curriculum with colleagues, Dr. Patrick McGreevy and Troy Fry, entitled Essential for Living. In 2013, Colleen was awarded with the Gulfshore Business 40 Under 40 Award which recognizes individuals in the southwest Florida community whose work has made an impact on the local community. Colleen is the proud mother of a son, Zachary, a daughter, Julia, and the lucky wife of her high school sweetheart, Josh, who has been and continues to be instrumental in the growth of ABLE Academy.
Dr. Colleen Cornwall
Kim’s personal mission statement is “To Know My Purposes in Life, and to Pursue them with Confidence, Dedication and Passion.” She graduated cum laude earning a Bachelor of Arts in Emotional and Behavioral Disorder Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. Kimberly is both a certified teacher and a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and has been working with children with developmental disabilities and severe emotional disorders in home and school settings in Naples since 1998. Kimberly is the Assistant Director at ABLE Academy and also provides direct services to clients. When Kimberly is not working at ABLE Academy, she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying live music and spending time outdoors.
Practices her personal motto everyday ~ “She who persists prevails” ~ received her Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University. Jen is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and Coordinator of STAR Outreach Services. Jen has been a part of the ABLE team since 1999. Ms. Schaaff specializes in the treatment of clients with problem behavior, developmental delays including autism, and clients with limited language repertoires. Jen provides direct service and supervision in seven local childcare centers as well as working closely with the teachers and parents in each center to share her knowledge of applying behavior analysis and verbal behavior into general education classrooms. Jen is a member of ABLE Academy's Leadership Team.
Received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Hamilton College and her Masters Degree in Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Koch is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has experience working with individuals with special needs in school, home, and community settings since 2003. Kristine provides direct service to clients, parent training, and staff supervision and support. Kristine's daily mission is to have a positive impact on those around her, whether it be clients, parents of clients, or other staff members, and she strives to make each day better than the last!
Cassie, a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire. She relocated to Naples in 2009 for what was supposed to be a brief stint away from the harsh New England weather. Then, she joined the ABLE family and the rest is history! Cassie provides direct services and case management to clients, including parent training, and facilitates program development and growth. Her status as a lifelong member of the special needs community- both of her brothers have developmental disabilities- affords her a nonpareil approach to the services she provides. She believes: “Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life.” (~Bianca Sparacino)
A native of Naples who has a Bachelors in Psychology from Iowa State University. While in Iowa, Niki worked as a specialist with children with autism at the Baxter Early Learning Center. She then worked at the YMCA of Newton as the Coordinator of Curriculum, supervising nine educational programs. Ms. Colvin works as an Applied Behavior Clinician in ABLE Academy’s clinical program. On the weekends, you will find Niki lounging by the pool, sitting in the shade under her umbrella at the beach, enjoying the outdoors fishing and camping with scouts, coaching soccer or starting a random dance party with her sons just for fun. Niki faces every with her personal motto ~ life's too short not to be ridiculous once in awhile, so don't be afraid to have fun.
Yara graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2015. During her years at the University of South Florida Yara volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Her passion for helping others motivates her to learn new ways in which she can make a difference everyday. Yara is currently seeking board certification. She lives by her personal motto, “inspiration exists, but it must find you working”.
Yara Perez Del Castillo
Originally from Rhode Island, Alicia holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lynn University. She has been teaching children of all ages and abilities since 2007. In addition to her teaching experience, she also has experience providing one-on-one therapy in both the home and community settings for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. Alicia strives to meet the needs of each and every individual child.
Tori is a Registered Behavior Technician who has been working in the field of applied behavioral analysis since 2009. She found her passion for working in the special needs community starting as a high school volunteer at ABLE Academy. Tori received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education and Interdisciplinary Studies in 2015 from Florida Gulf Coast University. She is currently seeking her board certification. Tori has worked in a variety of the ABLE Academy programs and currently is a member of the Early Intervention team. When Tori is not working at ABLE Academy you can find her hanging with her wolf pack including her two Siberian Huskies and a cat who thinks he’s a husky! She also enjoys spending time outdoors from the beach to woods.
Allison is a recent graduate from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in Communication Science and Disorders and a minor in Child Development. While in college she spent her time volunteering as a research assistant for the FSU Child Language and Literacy Lab with a focus on English Language Learners. Early language and literacy development is very important to Allison and she looks forward to increasing these skills through the application of mathematics. Allison plans to attend graduate school in the future.
