Florida Ongoing Consultations |
| Colleen will come to your home, school and/or facility and begin by conducting interviews of those who work closely with the client. Next, Colleen will conduct observations and interact with the client in his natural settings. Then, with the assistance of the family and those who work closely with the client, Colleen will conduct an assessment, typically the Assessment of Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS). Specific goals derived from the results of the assessment coupled with behavioral concerns serve the foundation for the development of a comprehensive curriculum, complete with clearly written intervention protocols, that addresses language, academic, motor and social skill repertoires. Upon curriculum completion, Colleen will conduct an initial training workshop, including basic behavioral principles, the analysis of verbal behavior and application of procedures utilizing errorless teaching. Colleen will review the curricular protocols in depth with those who will work with the client directly. Colleen will then implement the teaching procedures and protocols with the client while the client’s staff observes. Each member of the client’s staff will have the opportunity to work 2:1 with Colleen and the client to implement teaching procedures and pinpoint areas of concern. Once the staff demonstrates competency at implementing the protocols, Colleen will make frequent visits to supervise and maintain the curriculum, observe staff to insure consistency, and conduct team meetings. The frequency of visits is dependent upon the client and the client’s staff. Follow-up consultations may take the form of face-to-face visits, e-mail, telephone conferencing and web-cam consultations (available soon). |
